This year, my father and I decided to celebrate father’s day on a mountain-top not too far from our house. He took a day off on Monday and we went for a day trip to Mt. Kinpu.

It was my father who had introduced me to hiking when I was still a baby and he took me everywhere with him when I was younger. Most of our family holidays consisted of camping and hiking or skiing. His honeymoon with my mother was to the Japanese alps. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you’ve been affected by your parents until you grow up to be exactly like them without knowing it.

Tried the whole Lion King thing while really suffering from my fear of heights.

We talked for 8 hours straight and this may have been the best father’s day I’d ever spent with him. Thanks dad.
